Recommendations
In addition to the mandatory inspection items we look for during an inspection, there are also a number of inspection items that are optional. These are called recommendations. These points are either not relevant to everyone, or not (yet) required by law, but are highly recommended. We explain them below:
Recommendation: Covering privacy statement
When you collect reviews through WebwinkelKeur, customer data is sent to us from your web store. In order not to violate the privacy of your customers we should be explicitly included in your privacy statement. For this, if you don't use our privacy policy generator, just copy the following text:
Reviews WebwinkelKeurWe collect reviews through the platform of WebwinkelKeur. If you leave a review through WebwinkelKeur, you are required to provide your name and email address. WebwinkelKeur shares this information with us so that we can link the review to your order. WebwinkelKeur also publishes your name on its own website. In some cases, WebwinkelKeur may contact you to provide an explanation of your review. In case we invite you to leave a review we share your name and email address with WebwinkelKeur. They use this information for the sole purpose of inviting you to leave a review. WebwinkelKeur has taken appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your personal data. WebwinkelKeur reserves the right to use third parties for the provision of services, for this we have given WebwinkelKeur permission. All aforementioned safeguards regarding the protection of your personal data also apply to those parts of the service for which WebwinkelKeur engages third parties."
Recommendation: authenticity reviews
Since May 28, 2022, a new law has come into effect whereby you must be able to prove that your reviews are genuine. Thus, you may not reward customers for writing or changing a review. We recommend that you place the following text on your webshop:
"We find it important that reviews give the best possible picture of our products and service. Our reviews are therefore, impartially, managed by WebwinkelKeur. Webwinkelkeur has taken measures to guarantee the authenticity of reviews. What measures these are you can read here. Our customers are not rewarded for writing reviews. Recommendations at re-inspections
In addition to the two recommendations at a regular inspection, there are additional recommendations at re-inspections. These include the following optional inspection items:
- Perfect placement and tools of your trustmark: Trust and clarity is important for your visitors. Do you want to enable visitors to request customer experiences and company information without them leaving your online store? By placing the WebwinkelKeur sidebar on your website you can offer visitors this and increase their trust in your store. But also a good placement of the trustmark itself is important. - Do you send review invitations? WebwinkelKeur allows you to send invitations for reviews (automatically). Proactively collecting reviews has the advantage that not only dissatisfied customers post reviews, but also your satisfied customers do so. This way, you increase trust in your shop. - Reward for reviews: We do not recommend sending review invitations to your customers in which you encourage them to write a review in exchange for a product (to test), money or a discount. This is because of the aforementioned law that went into effect in 2022, which requires you to prove that your reviews are genuine.
