Simple integration Connecting Claude or ChatGPT via MCP

With ValuedShops’ MCP integration, you can let Claude or the ChatGPT desktop app retrieve data from your dashboard. You can then ask questions in plain language about your online stores, review invitations, and reviews.

The integration can also change the online store description in the primary language. In Claude or ChatGPT, specify whether the AI assistant should first ask for permission to do so.

What can you do with the integration?

After connecting, your AI assistant can:

display your connected online stores;
view a web store’s data;
view sent review invitations;
view and summarize received reviews;
update an online store’s description.

Please note: The integration cannot send review invitations, reply to reviews, or change any other online store settings.

What do you need?

A ValuedShops account with access to your online store.
An account with Claude or the ChatGPT desktop app.
The MCP server URL: https://dashboard.valuedshops.nl/mcp

You’ll log in to ValuedShops during the integration process. Claude and ChatGPT won’t see your dashboard password. However, data you request through the integration may become part of your conversation with the selected AI provider. That provider’s terms and privacy settings apply in this case.

Connecting ValuedShops to Claude

1. Open Claude’s settings

Open Claude’s settings and select “Customize” in the bottom-left corner.

2. Add a connector

Select “Connectors.”
Click Add in the top right corner.
Enter “MCP ValuedShops ” as the name.
Enter https://dashboard.webwinkelkeur.nl/mcp as the URL.

3. Check the connection settings

Claude automatically detects the correct settings. Leave the detected authentication method and OAuth settings selected. You do not need to enter any additional headers, Client ID, or Client Secret. Then click Add

4. Connect Claude to ValuedShops

The connector has now been added but is not yet connected to your dashboard account. Click Connect to start the connection.

5. Grant access

If necessary, log in to ValuedShops. Verify that the correct dashboard account is displayed and review the access permissions Claude is requesting. Then click Grant Access

6. Review the available options

After connecting, you’ll see which ValuedShops tools Claude can use. Here, you can also specify when Claude must first request permission. Keep “Update webshop” set to “Needs approval,” as this tool can change the webshop description.

Connecting ValuedShops to the ChatGPT desktop app

These steps apply to the ChatGPT desktop app with Codex. The screens and installation process on chatgpt.com are different.

1. Enable developer mode

Open the ChatGPT desktop app’s settings.
Select “Security and login.”

2. Select the option to add an MCP server

In the settings, select " Plugins."
Click Add in the upper-right corner.
Select “Add MCP server.”

3. Enter the ValuedShops details

Use the following settings:

Name is MCP ValuedShops
Type is Streamable HTTP
URL is https://dashboard.ValuedShops.nl/mcp

Leave the fields for the Bearer token, headers, and environment variables blank. Then click Save

4. Start the verification

In Plugins, open the MCPs tab.
Make sure mcp_ValuedShops is enabled.
Click Authenticate

5. Log in to ValuedShops

After clicking Authenticate, the ValuedShops login page will open. Log in with the email address and password for your dashboard account.

6. Grant access

Verify that the correct dashboard account is displayed and review the requested access permissions. Then click Grant Access

This page lists Codex as the application and 127.0.0.1 as the application domain. This is correct for this installation method. After logging in, the local address will redirect you back to the desktop app.

Verify that the connection works

After connecting, start a new conversation or a new task and ask which online stores are linked to your ValuedShops account. Specify that the AI assistant is only allowed to view and not make any changes.

The AI assistant will then use the ValuedShops connection and may first ask for permission. After that, you’ll see the linked online stores.

Examples of questions

Which online stores are linked to my account?
Show me the ten most recent reviews of my online store.
Summarize the pros and cons from my reviews.
Which review invitations were created most recently?
Suggest a new online store description; do not make any changes.

Would you like to have a description changed? First, ask the AI assistant to write a proposal. Only then should you explicitly instruct it to apply the approved text.
