International opportunities German requirements
Our German-language online store trustmark is based on European requirements and regulations. We do not claim, therefore, to conduct a comprehensive legal review in accordance with German law, but rather a review of European regulations that we consider important for consumers.
Company Information / Legal Notice
Company information must be clearly accessible—not merely hidden within the terms and conditions. This includes:
• Phone number.
• Email address.
• Business address (not just a P.O. box).
• Chamber of Commerce number.
• VAT number.
We recommend listing all this information on a contact page or an “About Us” page. In any case, the basic principle is that this information should be easy to find.
Right of Withdrawal
The same requirements apply regarding the cooling-off period as in the Netherlands. We ask that you translate the following text into German and include it in an easily accessible location, separate from your terms and conditions.
You have the right to cancel your order up to 14 days after receipt without providing a reason. After cancellation, you have another 14 days to return your product. You will then be credited the full order amount, including shipping costs. You are only responsible for the cost of returning the item from your home to the online store. These costs amount to approximately 7.25 per package; please check your carrier’s website for exact rates. If you exercise your right of withdrawal, the product must be returned to the merchant with all accessories included and—if reasonably possible—in its original condition and packaging. To exercise this right, please contact us at <EMAIL>. We will refund the order amount within 14 days of receiving your return notification, provided that the product has already been received in good condition or you have provided proof that the product has been returned.
Warranty and Complaints
Consumers must be informed of the option for dispute mediation. This can be done using the sample text below. Place this text in a clearly visible location (i.e., not hidden within the terms and conditions).
Disputes between the customer and the online store regarding the creation or implementation of agreements in connection with this transaction or the products and services offered may, subject to the following provisions, be submitted to GeschilOnline.
German Terms and Conditions
Make sure your terms and conditions are clear and comprehensive. It is important that consumers can access them with a single click from the homepage. We do not have a German translation of our terms and conditions. You could potentially post the English version (found in the dashboard under Promotion > Documents) or translate the Dutch version into German.
