Product reviews Shopify: here's how it works

Written by Ismail Akhan

We offer product reviews for Shopify

Send an invitation to your customers to review their products, showing other visitors how good your assortment is! The cost of product reviews for Shopify is 10 euros per month on top of existing costs.

The benefits of product reviews for Shopify:

- Customers make better purchase decisions, leading to fewer returns.

- Increase sales using "social proof."

- Earn stars in unpaid Google results for your product pages and export product reviews to Google Shopping.

- Collect both site and product reviews with one review request.

Activation is simple and quickly done through your dashboard. Navigate to 'Reviews' and proceed to 'Product reviews'. Then click on 'Settings' and enable the service.

Once you have activated the feature, you can activate product reviews within Shopify by going to the settings of our Shopify app. Here you can check product reviews and - if you haven't already collected product reviews through another party - also check 'Review sync'. This will also display the stars on the catalog pages.

Your customers will now receive an invitation to rate your online store. After they have rated your store, they will be given the option to rate their products as well. To check if everything is set up properly and invitations are sent with the option to leave a product review you can log in to your WWK Dashboard > Invitations. Invitations that have been sent with the option to leave a product review can be identified by an icon of a gray shopping cart.

How to display product reviews on your product page can be read here. It will also automatically ensure that the correct Schema.org formatting is used so that you claim the yellow stars in the organic search results.

Add GTIN Codes for Google:

GTIN or Global Trade Item Number ensures that products can be easily distinguished from each other. Giving each product a unique GTIN code makes it easy for search programs like Google to find the products. There are different types of GTIN codes:

- EAN | European Article Numbering | 8- or 13-digit bar code

- JAN | Japanese Article Numbering | 8- or 13-digit bar code

- UPC | Universal Product Code | 12-digit bar code

- ISBN | International Standard Book Numbering | 13-digit number

- IFT-14 | Interleaved Two of Five | 14-digit number

You can add these codes in Shopify by logging into your Shopify dashboard > Products > Select Product > Stock.
