International opportunities German requirements
Our German-language online store label is based on European requirements and rules. We thus do not pretend to do a complete legal check according to German law, but a check on European rules that we consider important for consumers.
Company data / imprint
Company data must be clearly findable, not just hidden in the general terms and conditions. This includes:
- Phone number.
- E-mail address.
- Branch address (not just a PO Box).
- Chamber of Commerce number.
- VAT number.
We recommend including all these details on a contact page or on an about us page. In any case, the starting point is that these details are easy to find.
Right of withdrawal
The same requirements apply as in the Netherlands. We ask that you translate the following text into German and include it outside your terms and conditions in an easily findable place.
You have the right to cancel your order up to 14 days after receipt without giving a reason. You have another 14 days after cancellation to return your product. You will then be credited the full order amount including shipping costs. Only the return costs from your home to the store are for your own account. These costs are approximately 7.25 per package, for the exact rates please consult the website of your carrier. If you exercise your right of withdrawal, the product will be returned to the entrepreneur with all delivered accessories and - if reasonably possible - in its original condition and packaging. To exercise this right, please contact us via <EMAIL>. We will then refund the order amount due within 14 days of notification of your return provided the product has already been received back in good order.
Warranty and complaints
Consumers must be made aware of the possibility of dispute mediation. This can be done using the sample text below. Place it in an easily findable place (not hidden in the general terms and conditions).
Streitigkeiten zwischen Kunde und Online-Shop über die Schaffung oder der Umsetzung von Vereinbarungen im Zusammenhang mit diesem Geschäft oder bieten Produkte und Dienstleistungen, kann, vorbehaltlich der nachfolgenden Bestimmungen an GeschilOnline eingereicht werden.
German general terms and conditions
Make sure your terms and conditions are clear and comprehensive. It is important that consumers can see them with one click from the homepage. We do not have a German translation of our terms and conditions. You could possibly post the English one (within dashboard under Promotion > Documents) or translate the Dutch version into German.
