Affordable & Innovative trustmark

The history of WebwinkelKeur starts in 2010, at that time we started as a protest against existing trustmarks. On the one hand we see expensive trustmarks that are not affordable for starters, on the other hand we see cheap trustmarks without much added value. We also found it unfortunate that none of the trustmarks integrate customer reviews into the trustmark to check the reliability of their members not only on paper, but also in practice.

Free webshop trustmark

WebwinkelKeur hereby starts as a completely free trustmark. The goal is to break even in the future through partners. In the first years there was a lot of traffic due to the free nature of the trustmark. However, we noticed that the quality is not always good. Webshops that register often do not meet our requirements and webshops that stop do not deregister. In early 2012 we decided to raise a threshold for members by charging an annual membership fee.

Further development

Because the membership fee also creates opportunities to improve the label, there have been many technical innovations in the following years. For example, in 2013 we introduced WebwinkelKeur PLUS, where it became possible to invite customers to share their customer reviews. With this, WebwinkelKeur also became a full-fledged customer review tool. We also introduced the Javascript integration that made it possible to check the authenticity of the seal within one's own online store.

From mid-2015, the entire software of WebwinkelKeur was renewed. Members received an entirely new management tool with numerous features. With this, WebwinkelKeur was a forerunner in the industry; therefore, this software is continuously being further developed.

Europe

The e-commerce landscape was becoming increasingly international. Hence, we also wanted to help our members do business internationally; we did this by, among other things, our affiliation with the EMOTA seal of approval in 2015. This made us the first and only party to bring a full-fledged international hallmark to the Netherlands. Also, since March 2014 we have also been active in Spain under the name eValor.es. After the discontinuation of the EMOTA hallmark in January 2020, we are now using the European hallmark ValuedShops

In addition to the primarily natural growth in membership, we have also made some acquisitions in recent years, namely:
