Use of our services
Purposes of data at registration
We use your data exclusively for the purpose of our services. That is, the purpose of processing is always directly related to the order you provide. We do not use your data for (targeted) marketing. If you share data with us and we use this data other than at your request or to contact you at a later time, we will ask you for your explicit permission to do so. Registration
When you register for one of our services, we ask you to provide personal data. Personal data means any information about a natural person that could be identified by that information. This may include a name, phone number, identification number, IP address, or physical characteristics.
This data is used to perform the service. Without this data it is not possible for us to conclude an agreement. The data are stored on our own secure servers of Stichting WebwinkelKeur or those of a sub-processor
We process the personal data we receive from you in the event of a registration for the purpose of assessing the reliability of your webshop and informing consumers and interested parties about it. In this context, we can distinguish five main processes:
- we carry out inspections of webshops on the basis of European legislation;
- we keep a register in which we include all (former) members for the management of the trustmark;
- we collect, publish and moderate customer reviews about our members;
- we mediate and document disputes between our members and their private customers;
- we inform about various important aspects within e-commerce.
Customer reviews
It is possible for members to ask their customers to post a customer review. In this case, the customer is informed in advance of the provisions below.
- Customer reviews can be imported and viewed by the owner of the web store.
- Customer reviews can be displayed elsewhere to demonstrate the reliability of the web store.
Sub-processors
In order to fully perform our services, we use sub-processors. These parties receive the personal data from us in order to process it. These parties process their data only within the EU or have entered into a model contract with us (SCCs) and also take the necessary steps for proper data connection.
An overview of these sub-processors can be found at https://www.webwinkelkeur.nl/kennisbank/over-webwinkelkeur/algemene-voorwaarden-leden/subverwerkers/.
Retention of personal data
WebwinkelKeur does not process and store your personal data longer than necessary. This is at least during your membership. The data from the trustmark register, customer reviews and data related to disputes will be retained by us for up to seven years. The data related to inviting consumers to write a review are kept for one year. Your personal data used when signing up for the newsletter is deleted when you unsubscribe from the newsletter. We store personal data in a secure database on a server located in England.
